Vacation Bible school
Every Summer we have a vacation Bible school for children ages 4- 5th grade. Each year, there is a different theme. The children participate in crafts, games, Bible adventures, have fun snacks and sing lots of fun songs. All children are welcome from the community. Bring a friend and have a great time discovering the Love, laughter, and joy of God.
Sunday school
The Sunday School of the First Reformed Church offers quality Christian education for students from Pre-K through seventh grade and is held Sunday mornings during the traditional school year. Our classes each encompass two grades. Each class has a special opportunity to meet with Pastor \Kirsty for breakfast during the year and join with their class in leading worship.
Sunday mornings begin in the Church Sanctuary and, following a special lesson for the kids, students proceed to their classrooms. Here, our young people study Scripture and learn how to apply Christian concepts to their daily lives through age-appropriate lessons. Younger students also enjoy working on crafts and projects. The older students complement their studies with social activities.
Outside of the classroom, special activities accompany our Sunday School program. Our 2-3 grade class receive a children’s Bible from the church family as a special gift during the year.
Our 4-5 grade class participates in a two-week program focused on the sacrament of communion; at its conclusion, they join the church family for a special celebration of communion in worship.
Sunday School is taught by caring and committed church family members who volunteer their time in this vital and growing ministry. You are encouraged to provide your loved ones with Christian Education to provide a foundation for a caring and full Christian life. Please prayerfully consider sending the youngsters in your life to the First Reformed Church’s Sunday School. We welcome all children and there is no cost for Sunday School.
family service
A New Family Service will be held every fifth Sunday. This will be an opportunity for families to worship together. The children will be involved in worship and there will be interactive preaching and activities that will engage all ages in the congregation
