Wednesday Morning Bible Study – A great discussion waiting for you!
When: Wednesdays from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. (September through June)
Where: First Reformed Church – Classroom 10
Each week, Pastor Kirsty leads a Bible Study on the scripture passage for the upcoming sermon. No preparation is required; simply come and participate! If you are free on Wednesdays from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., please join us. Friends from outside the church are also warmly welcomed! We typically meet in one of the church Sunday School classrooms.
No matter how many times you may have studied different passages, there always seems to be something new to discuss or think about. Our format makes it a great study to invite friends since we have new opportunities each week to talk about our experiences and our faith. Of course, there is always a cup of coffee waiting for you too! If you would like more information about the study, please contact Pastor Kirsty.
Wednesday Evening Bible Study – Digging Deeper
When: First and Third Wednesdays from 7:00 – 8:15 p.m.. (September through June)
Where: First Reformed Church – Library
This study is typically a 6-8 session which covers a particular book or Bible topic and is geared to those who want to explore a particular topic a little more in-depth. Each session is a stand-alone study, making this a welcome place for those who can only make it to just one or a few sessions. Pastor Kirsty leads a conversation based on study guides that accompany this study. It welcomes those of many different levels of knowledge of the Bible. Recent studies have included the book of John and a study on some lesser-known Old Testament Characters.
We are also offering a small group study, which is generally are 6-8 people and will meet twice a month. Our Small Groups are designed to be missional, transformational and relational. They change us, help us grow, and get us to go out and do good in the world.
If you love coming to church but can sometimes find yourself getting lost in the crowd, or if you yearn for a deeper connection with the people you see on Sundays and often leave worship wanting to discuss the message with others, but don’t know where to begin – then our Small Groups are for you! They bring people together to study God’s Word, to share their stories, build community and have fun together. By joining a Small Group, you can equip yourself with the spiritual tools to put your faith in action.

Triads- are made up of three or four people of the same gender who meet weekly (preferably) to hold each other accountable for spiritual growth and transformation. Greg Ogden refers to triads and quads as “hot-houses” of Christian growth because they maximize conditions that produce accelerated spiritual growth. Ogden writes,
There are three ingredients when exercised in a balanced way that releases the Holy Spirit to bring about a rapid growth toward Christlikeness: This can be summarized in the following Biblical principle: When we (1) open our hearts in transparent trust to each other (2) around the truth of God’s word (3) in the spirit of mutual accountability, we are in the Holy Spirit’s hothouse of transformation.
